Aviation technology company Azinq has celebrated the first full implementation of its Airport Hive technology, a replacement Airport Operational Database (AODB), to go live during an operational day at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
The AODB technology was brought into the airport’s production environment in November, with Azinq claiming that it can now confirm the transition went ahead without any major issues.

The cloud-based software consists of a suite of airport operational solutions that allows individual components to be developed and updated separately so they can be introduced to the system when required.
Chris Taylor, managing partner and co-founder of Azinq, said: “Focusing on user-centric design and advanced functionality, Airport Hive represents a significant leap forward in technology for Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
“It not only meets their current needs, but also anticipates and adapts to the evolving demands of the future.”
While Liverpool marks the first full implementation of the Airport Hive system, Azinq says it already has products from the system in 18 airports across the UK, Canada, and Oman, with AODB systems going live in another five airports this year.

It enables our operation to be more efficient and offer a better end service to our passengers.”
The modernisation of the airport’s AODB system falls in line with a report published last year that identified the importance of airports in the North England to grow the UK’s tourism industry and called for more work to maximise their potential.
